About Kler English Setters

 We are so glad you’re here! My name is Jessica Kler, and I am the founder and owner of Kler English Setters, alongside my husband, Daniel Kler. We are a small, in-home breeder of English Setters located in the village of Mancelona in beautiful Northern Michigan.

We currently own five English Setters. You can learn more about them under our “Our Setters" page. We are fortunate to live on 7 acres of open fields and wooded land where our dogs can run, scent track, and point birds—doing exactly what they were bred to do. English Setters are instinctive, natural-born hunters with exceptional versatility.

My love for the English Setter breed began about 15 years ago while working at a veterinary clinic in Traverse City, Michigan. Since then, I have dedicated myself to learning, growing, and preparing to build a breeding program focused on preserving the breed, improving health, and sharing these incredible dogs with families.

At Kler English Setters, our mission is to promote the health, temperament, and overall well-being of the English Setter through responsible breeding practices. All of our dogs are registered with the American Kennel Club (AKC), United Kennel Club (UKC) and the North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association (NAVHDA). We prioritize health by performing DNA and genetic testing through Embark, BAER testing for hearing, and OFA certifications for hips and elbows.

We take great pride in raising dogs that excel as loving family companions, skilled hunting partners, and even service or therapy dogs. Above all, we believe every dog deserves a loving home, and we are committed to raising healthy, well-socialized puppies that will bring joy to your family for years to come.
