ABOUT KLER SETTERS

Hello and welcome! We are so glad your here! My name is Jessica Kler and I am the founder and owner of Kler English Setters along with my husband, Daniel Kler. We are a small, in-home breeder of English Setters located in the village of Mancelona in beautiful Northern Michigan. We currently own four English Setters who you can read about under the "Our Girls" and "Our Boys" tabs. We love to take them out on the 7 acres of open fields and woods that we own where they get to run, scent track, and point birds. Our setters are instinctively natural born hunters and come from great bloodlines, making our setters very versatile. I fell in love with the English Setter breed when I was working at a veterinary clinic in Traverse City, MI about 15 years ago. Since then I have been educating myself and preparing to start my own breeding program to preserve the breed, decrease health issues, and share these amazing and beautiful dogs with other families.  

At Kler English Setters, our goal is to promote the health and well-being of English Setters through responsible breeding. All of our dogs are registered with the UKC (United Kennel Club) and NAVHDA (North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association). We DNA and genetic health test with Embark, screen our sires and dams for deafness with BAER testing (Brainstem Auditory Evoked Response), and certify hips and elbows with OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals). We pride ourselves on producing excellent family dogs, wonderful hunting companions, and exceptional service/therapy dogs. We believe that every dog deserves a loving home, and we are committed to producing healthy and happy puppies for you all!
